The Severn Class Lifeboat has a top speed in excess of 25 knots, has a range of 250 nautical miles, is completely self righting. She weighs 44 tons, is 17m long (55ft 9 in), has a beam of 5.65m (18.5ft), a draught of 1.6m (5ft 6in) and is powered by twin caterpillar 3412 TA turbocharged, aftercooled marine diesel Engines. She carries a crew of 6 and is capable of carrying up to 180 survivors in fine weather .She will retain her self righting capability with up to 43 survivors on board .
The Atlantic 75 Inshore Lifeboat has a top speed of 32 knots, has an endurance of 3 hours at top speed. She is powered by twin 70 hp outboard engines. Total weight without crew or ballest 1.5 tons.
